4Drive Poland is a booking platform for vehicle rentals across major Polish cities. We work with local rental companies to offer access to a range of vehicles - from compact city cars to 4WD pickups suited for mountain roads. Each booking is handled directly by a local supplier in the city you select. You deal with the rental company at pick-up, sign the rental agreement on site, and receive their contact details in your voucher.
Our system lets you book online with a card payment for the advance. The balance and any deposit requirements are handled at pick-up, with payment methods listed for each specific vehicle during booking. We process reservations and send vouchers - the rental company provides the vehicle, agreement, and on-ground support.
The process follows four steps. First, you search for a vehicle in your chosen city and select pick-up and drop-off dates. The search results show individual vehicles with their specifications, excess amounts, and payment requirements clearly stated.
Second, you pay the booking advance online using a debit or credit card. Cash payments are not accepted online. The advance secures your reservation and confirms the rate.
Third, you receive a voucher by email. This voucher contains the rental company's details, pick-up location (desk at terminal, counter in city, or hotel delivery depending on the supplier), and the full payment breakdown. It also lists what documents to bring.
Fourth, you collect the vehicle from the local supplier at the time you selected. They check your licence, verify your identity, note any existing damage in the rental agreement, and collect the balance. Payment method for the balance - debit card, cash, or credit card - depends on the specific vehicle and is shown in your voucher. Some suppliers may block a deposit on a card; others may not require one.
We process bookings in the following Polish cities: Krakow, Warsaw, Gdansk, Wroclaw, Katowice, Poznan, Rzeszow, Lodz, Lublin, and Sopot. Each city has local rental companies that handle vehicle delivery and customer service on the ground.
Krakow Airport (KRK) sits 11 km west of the city centre via Aleja Jana Pawla II. Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) is 10 km south-west of the capital via the S79 route. Gdansk Airport serves the Tri-City area, with Sopot 12 km south along the coast. Pick-up points include airport desks, city-centre offices, and hotel delivery where available.
Cross-border travel to Czechia, Slovakia, and Germany is possible with written permission from the rental company. This must be arranged in advance and is noted in your rental agreement. Motorway vignettes for A-routes (A1, A2, A4) are available as a paid extra during booking.
Some vehicles in our inventory are offered without a deposit requirement at pick-up. This means the rental company does not block funds on your card during the rental period. The excess - the amount you are liable for in case of damage - remains in effect. These are independent parameters: no deposit does not reduce or remove the excess.
For customers who prefer these options, we label them clearly in search results. Vehicles without deposit requirements typically state the payment methods accepted for the balance. If a vehicle does require a deposit, the amount is shown during booking and in your voucher.
For those without a credit card, we recommend checking your debit card's daily limit and increasing it if necessary before pick-up. Requirements vary by vehicle, not by class, so always check the specific listing.
